The family loop
Hand a family a one-time invite code (from the student page) and they get their own free app: their child’s talking boards, assigned home practice with your coaching tips pinned on screen, streaks 🔥, a plain-language explanation of the therapy, updates you choose to share, and a chat line that respects your posted business hours.
Games go home too
Assign a playable activity — matching, bingo, memory — from the student’s home-practice tab, right beside deck assignment. The family’s practice card becomes “Play now”, the child plays the same interactive player the therapy room uses, and every match and find flows back as practice data. The activity is snapshotted at assign time, so the family always plays exactly what you sent.
What flows back
Practice results — recordings included, when consent is on file — arrive live. You rate each assignment, send feedback, and adjust the tips. Lock-screen notifications keep both sides in the loop.
Signatures & consents
Send recording consent, photo releases, teletherapy consent, ROIs, or custom agreements straight to the signer. Pick the audience: parents sign in the family app, teachers on their check-in page — an input form or classroom agreement reaches the teacher and never a family device, and vice versa. The document itself can be written in the dialog, photographed (permission slip on letterhead, district form — the image is part of what gets signed and is bound by the same hash), or AI-drafted from a plain description (Pro; placeholders mark anything the AI wasn’t told, and you read every line before sending). The signer reads the full document, ticks an explicit “sign electronically” box, and draws their signature — or declines with a reason, which is a real answer, not an error. The signed PDF carries who signed (their signed-in account, stamped by the server), when, a hash binding the signature to exactly what was presented, and the full audit trail. Paper is first-class too: print, collect wet ink, scan it in.
In the family’s language (Pro)
Set Spanish or Mandarin as a family’s language and everything you write to them — shared updates, chat messages — offers a side-by-side review first: your English on one side, the translation on the other, editable, and nothing reaches the family until you approve it. They read their language first with your English kept underneath; a message they write in their language gets a one-tap English rendering on your side. Originals are never overwritten — both languages live on the record. Clinical notes and reports never translate; this is the family surface only.
The boundary
Families see their child only — never your caseload, never clinical notes, never the working diagnosis (they see the plain-language version you wrote for them). That boundary is enforced on the server, not just hidden in the app.
